Research and Development project which involved updating Holition FaceSDK realtime rendering of Skin Foundation products on camera-acquired images, in order to improve the simulation into a more realistic and natual look.
In order to evaluate how similar an image is to a reference one, we first worked to produce a Comparative Analysis Tool (CAT) which can express an evaluation of the quantitative deviation in terms of lighting, hue, and texture.
We then developed a new model to describe the physical properties of both skin and foundation product and how they interact, and used it to implement a solution which appropriately simulates color absorption and scattering, and the smoothing effect that foundation products have on the skin.
